[ The idea of catching a cold from the weather was almost amusing to Weiss. If her entire state of mind wasn't stretched beyond what she would consider bearable stress right now, she might've laughed. She might've pointed out that she spent time surrounded by ice even back at Beacon. Of all people, she wasn't concerned about the cold, even if she could feel it. Her aura could handle a little more than that. She would rather be out in the cold than where she was supposed to be, safe and warm.

When she turned around to face him once out of the doorway, it would be even more obvious that she was more lost than ever. ]

[ Lost as she was, James Ironwood was still friends with Jacques Schnee. Even if Weiss trusted him, she wouldn't have blamed him if his initial instinct was to call his friend to let him know that his daughter was safe. Weiss didn't feel safe with him though. [he wasn't about to tell jacques either way, however once he heard the tone in weiss's voice he knew that he couldn't let her go back that easily. this really wasn't any of his business, this was between the two schnees- but he did offer her a way out, and he meant to keep his promise. his home might not have been like the school he ran, but it was still a safe haven for weiss to be in.

He never had. But that's the only way she can get away from them without one of them getting hurt in the process. Since he's a lot more willing to hurt her than she is him, this is her solution.
Weiss looks Ironwood straight in the eyes and takes a deep breath, then much more calmly but with a clear determination, asks her question. ]
If he sends someone after me I'll fight anyone who comes and I won't stop running. He's taken everything from me except who I am. I won't stay locked up for him to slowly chip away at that too. I'll stay here tonight, but... I want to know where my friends are. That's where I need to be.
[so, she was completely serious, was she? ironwood knew that jacques was an unreasonable man- he had experienced his madness first hand. however, they were will long time companions and he had vowed to stand by his friend. even so... ironwood could see that weiss was hurting, especially after that display earlier. jacques had been yelling at her, something about the family, and she had been the only one to speak of some sense.

ironwood nodded, his weight shifting from one leg to the other as he spoke to her.]
I can work on finding where your friends are as well as preparing a ship for you to leave. I can tell already that your mind is made up, and I won't stop you either.
[ She pauses for a moment. She doesn't know Ironwood too well, but it's asking a lot. She knows it is. He seemed to actually be listening, and she did trust him, but.. ]
...My bank account's been emptied and he disinherited me, so please just let me know if there's anything I can do in favors to pay you back. I can't really cook or anything, but I can clean, and I'm a little rusty with huntressing but I still have those talents.
[....favors? wow he hadn't been expecting that at all. ironwood let out a laugh, and he then walked away from weiss to return to his fireplace.]
I can assure you, Miss Schnee, that I do not need any sort of compensation. I'm a headmaster, and a general, I'm just happy to assist you. I wish that you wouldn't have to run away... but... I know how your father can be.

[ Weiss wants to ask how he can stand by him if he knows how he can be, a sentiment that's obvious in her expression but she ends up not saying outloud. Ironwood is the one person who stood up for her, who's still willing to stand up for her, she shouldn't drive a wedge there even if she doesn't understand. ]

[ Weiss finally seems to accept that he really does understand and goes to take her shoes off, easily shaving 3-4 inches off of her overall height, and heads over to the fire. Despite being a Schnee, she doesn't hesitate to sit on the ground in front of it before even taking her cloak off. Truth be told, she was freezing, and finally feeling like she had cleared that up made warming up her top priority. ]

Father took me before any of them were out of the hospital. The last information Klein was able to provide me was that Ruby and Yang went home and that Blake had disappeared. I don't know where Jaune, Nora, and Ren are... nor Neptune or Sun or any of CFVY.. I don't even know if all of them made it away from Vale safely. [ A brief moment passes before she perks up just a little. ] But, I overheard that you sent an arm to Yang from Father. He was complaining about you being able to send things and he couldn't get his Dust across the border, but it was news. So I know you at least knew where Yang was.
[yes, he really only knew of where yang was. finding her other friends would then become utmost priority.]
